English: Pakistan has imposed a 12-day lockdown in the area before India attacked
Tensions between India and Pakistan have risen since the Pehellagam terrorist attack. There is no military action from India so far, but there is a clear atmosphere of fear in various parts of Pakistan. Section 144 has been imposed in Karachi. A 12-day smart lockdown has been imposed in Jamrud area of Khyber district.
However, the official cause is said to be Monkey POx. According to a directive issued by Deputy Commissioner Captain (retd) Bilal Shahid Rao, movement of people in the area will be banned during the period.
Pakistan's authorities have declared a 12-day lockdown in the entire local area following an outbreak of monkey pox in Pump House Gundi Mahalla in Jamrud area of Khyber district.
Though the local administration said the decision was taken due to health reasons, experts say measures have already been taken in sensitive areas of Pakistan in alert mode due to possible retaliation from India.
Pakistani security agencies have been on alert in various areas although India has not taken any military action since the Pehelgam attack. Section 144 has already been imposed in Karachi, but now areas like Khyber are also witnessing administrative tightening. This means that although India has not yet taken any action, the fear of lockdown within Pakistan is beginning to manifest itself.
